Beta Reading
I also offer beta reading which is $0.01 per word. My professional beta reader on staff checks for consistency, gives feedback on the content, makes suggestions on how to improve the book, points out plot holes, comments on character development and story line, etc. If there is a content flaw in your book or if something is unrealistic, she will find it and point it out to you. She is extremely detail-oriented and will greatly help you improve the content of your book.
Copy Editing
I charge $0.02 cents a word for copy editing. For example, if a book is 35,000 words, it would be approximately $700.
Proofreading
Proofreading is usually $0.01 per word. Proofreading comes after at least one round of editing.
I accept Paypal, Venmo, credit card, or checks.
If you would like to hold a place on my calendar, I require a 10% deposit. I am usually booked for 2-4 weeks in advance.
I’m a graduate of Caitlin Pyle’s Proofread Anywhere course. It is an excellent course that covers everything students need to know about proofreading including grammar and punctuation, spelling, and more. The course teaches students with Morson’s English Guide for Court Reporters, The Gregg Reference Manual, Chicago Manual of Style and Margie Wakeman Wells’ resources. It is the only online course available that teaches how to proofread transcripts for court reporters. The course requires students to proofread and grade over 3,000 practice transcript pages. The quizzes, tests and exams require a grade of 90% or above to pass.
